Oxford's central location makes it readily accessible by both car and public transport
from all parts of the United Kingdom. Look here for details of
rail services.
On the roads National Express
have a range of long distance coach services. More specifically
Oxford Bus
and Stagecoach
provide regular coach services to and from central London and Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
Once in Oxford, the City is generally well served by local buses, also run by
Oxford Bus
and Stagecoach.
If you come to Oxford by car and are not staying overnight, do consider using one of the five
Park and Ride
sites on the City's outskirts (two in the north and one each on the east, south and west).
Jericho is a densely built-up part of the City about three-quarters of a mile from the City Centre. It is within walking distance of the central long-distance coach station at Gloucester Green and the railway station.
general map showing where Jericho is in Oxford.
local street map showing Albert Street and the immediate area around the chapel.
On each map the centre of the red circle shows the approximate location of the chapel.
There are no off-street public car parks close to the chapel (the nearest are in the City Centre proper). There is a large amount of on-street parking in the streets around, but be warned that much of this is only for use by people holding local residents' parking permits and enforcement is strict. The main area of parking for non-residents is located on both sides of Great Clarendon Street between Walton Street and Hart Street (see the local street map). During weekdays this is Pay-and-display but after 6:30pm and all day on Sundays parking here is free. There are also smaller groups of 2 or 3 hour parking spaces in some of the other streets, there is no charge for these at any time.
